Excellent work!
However, I think that if you must have the face in the picture, you should try making the face like... five times as big. Have a front-on half-face shot, [link] and in the shadows, blend in the background with maybe multiply or a similar layer style. Just a suggestion though! ;3
Overall, I think you have a very strong image here, it totally looks like the cover of a book or a movie so it has that cinematic oomph to it.
